Digital Photography

Digital photography is a form of photography that uses an array of light sensitive sensors to capture the image focused by the lens, as opposed to an exposure on light sensitive film. The captured image is then stored as a digital file ready for digital processing (colour correction, sizing, cropping, etc.), viewing or printing.
Until the advent of such technology, photographs were made by exposing light sensitive photographic film and used chemical photographic processing to develop and stabilize the image. By contrast, digital photographs can be displayed, printed, stored, manipulated, transmitted, and archived using digital and computer techniques, without chemical processing.
Digital photography is one of several forms of digital imaging. Digital images are also created by non-photographic equipment such as computer tomography scanners and radio telescopes. Digital images can also be made by scanning conventional photographic images.Sensors and storage
Image sensors read the intensity of light, and digital memory devices store the digital image information as RGB color space or as raw data.
There are two main types of sensors:
charge-coupled device (CCD) – photocharge is shifted to a central charge-to-voltage converter
CMOS sensors (“Active pixel sensor”)
Nearly all digital cameras use built-in and/or removable solid state flash memory. Digital tapeless camcorders that double as a digital still camera use flash memory, discs and internal hard drives. Certain 20th century digital cameras such as the Sony Mavica range used floppy disks and mini-CDs.
Multifunctionality and connectivity
Except for some linear array type of cameras at the highest-end and simple web cams at the lowest-end, a digital memory device (usually a memory card; floppy disks and CD-RWs are less common) is used for storing images, which may be transferred to a computer later.
Digital cameras can take pictures, and may also record sound and video. Some can be used as webcams, some can use the PictBridge standard to anything goes diet connect to a printer without using a computer, and some can display pictures directly on a television set. Similarly, many camcorders can take still photographs, and store them on videotape or on flash memorycards with the same functionality as digital cameras.
Performance metrics
The quality of a digital image is a composite of various factors, many of which are similar to those of film cameras. Pixel count (typically listed in megapixels, millions of pixels) is only one of the major factors, though it is the most heavily marketed figure of merit. Digital camera manufacturers advertise this sell house fast figure because consumers can use it to easily compare camera capabilities. It is not, however, the major factor in evaluating a digital camera for most applications. The processing system inside the camera that turns the raw data into a color-balanced and pleasing photograph is usually more critical, which is why some 4+ megapixel cameras perform better than higher-end cameras.
Resolution in pixels is not the only measure of image quality. A larger sensor with we buy any house the same number of pixels generally produces a better image than a smaller one. One of the most important differences is an improvement in image noise. This is one of the advantages of digital SLR cameras, which have larger sensors than simpler cameras of the same resolution.
Lens quality: resolution, distortion, dispersion (see Lens (optics))
Capture medium: CMOS, CCD, negative film, reversal film etc.
Capture format: pixel count, digital file type (RAW, TIFF, JPEG), film format (135 film, 120 film, 5×4, 10×8).
Processing: digital and / or chemical processing of ‘negative’ and ‘print’.
Pixel counts
The number of pixels n for a given maximum resolution (w horizontal pixels by h vertical pixels) is the product n = w × h. This yields e. g. 1.92 megapixels (1,920,000 pixels) for an image of 1600 × 1200. The majority of compact as well as some DSLR digital cameras have a 4:3 aspect ratio, i.e. w/h = 4/3.[1] According to Digital Photography Review, the 4:3 ratio is because “computer monitors are 4:3 ratio, old CCD’s always had a 4:3 ratio, and thus digital cameras inherited this aspect ratio.”[1]
The pixel count quoted by manufacturers can be misleading as it may not be the number of full-colour pixels. For cameras using single-chip image sensors the number claimed is the total number of single-colour-sensitive photosensors, whether they have different locations in the plane, as with the Bayer sensor, or in stacks of three co-located photosensors as in the Foveon X3 sensor. However, the images have different numbers of RGB pixels: Bayer-sensor cameras produce as many RGB pixels as photosensors via demosaicing (interpolation), while Foveon sensors produce uninterpolated image files with one-third as many RGB pixels as photosensors. It is difficult to compare the resolutions based on the megapixel ratings of these two types of sensors, and therefore sometimes subject of dispute.[2]
The relative increase in detail resulting from an increase in resolution is better compared by looking at the number of pixels across (or down) the picture, rather than the total number of pixels in the picture area. For example, a sensor of 2560 × 1600 sensor elements is described as “4 megapixels” (2560 × 1600 = 4,096,000). Increasing to 3200 × 2048 increases the pixels in the picture to 6,553,600 (6.5 megapixels), a factor of 1.6, but the pixels per cm in the picture (at the same image size) increases by only 1.25 times. A measure of the comparative increase in linear resolution is the square root of the increase in area resolution, i.e., megapixels in the entire image.
Dynamic range
Practical imaging systems, digital and film, have a limited “dynamic range”: the range of luminosity that can be reproduced accurately. Highlights of the subject that are too bright are rendered as white, with no detail; shadows that are too dark are rendered as black. The loss of detail is not abrupt with film, or in dark shadows with digital sensors: some detail is retained as brightness moves out of the dynamic range. “Highlight burn-out” of digital sensors, however, can be abrupt, and highlight detail may be lost. And as the sensor elements for different colors saturate in turn, there can be gross hue or saturation shift in burnt-out highlights.
Some digital cameras can show these blown highlights in the image review, allowing the photographer to re-shoot the picture with a modified exposure. Others compensate for the total contrast of a scene by selectively exposing darker pixels longer. A third technique is used by Fujifilm in its FinePix S3 Pro digital SLR. The image sensor contains additional photodiodes of lower sensitivity than the main ones; these retain detail in parts of the image too bright for the main sensor.
High dynamic range imaging (HDR) addresses this problem by increasing the dynamic range of images by either
increasing the dynamic range of the image sensor or
by using exposure bracketing and post-processing the separate images to create a single image with a higher dynamic range.
HDR images curtail burn-outs and black-outs.

This Distress Signal Flare Gun Will Last Days Instead Of Seconds, With No Fire

After more than a century, the conventional flare gun might be on its way to fizzling out. Used primarily as a distress signal, the gun that shoots fire is slowly being replaced by LED and laser  technology. Flare guns should never be used on the ground, because there is the chance of starting a fire. Its main purpose is for signaling at sea or between aircraft. Some believe it is used to find people that are lost. Actually it is more for locating people that are already in the general area who can’t be seen because of fog or darkness. The flare itself, only last for as long as the height the gun can shoot. It is for this reason that modern technology will someday make the flare gun obsolete. I think if it wasn’t for the fact that LED and laser were so cost prohibitive, it would have already happened.A simple automot skin cleanse ive flare, for example, could be replaced by beautiful LED flares if not for the cost. These modern flares are UL approved and can withstand being run over by a truck. At almost $40.00 each however, the average person will stay with having a handful of fire flares in their trunk. As far as the outdoors, laser light technology has come along way. It too is quite expensive. Although, with emergencies where this type of device would be utilized, peoples lives may be at risk. These laser signaling devices can be used both by boaters and campers as a distress signal. The cost will vary depending on if you prefer spending about $100.00 for nighttime rescue or $250.00 for daytime. Reviews have been mostly positive, accept for two concerns. First, they are not signaling devices. They merely project a beam of light in the sky.

Understanding the Law – E-SIGN Compliant Electronic Signatures

On June 30, 2000, Congress enacted the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (“ESIGN” or “the Act”), to facilitate the use of electronic records and signatures in interstate and foreign commerce by ensuring the validity and legal effect of contracts entered into electronically. Yet many do not understand how their business can be compliant with the E-SIGN Act. First we need to understand that E-SIGN, in section 101(b) does not require people to use electronic signatures. When electronic signatures are used then Sub-section (c), in direct support of (b), requires a “Consumer Disclosure” that the consumer also “consent electronically, in a manner that reasonably demonstrates that the consumer can access information in the electronic form that will be used to provide the information that is the subject of the consent”. As we can clearly see the law outlines a two step process to signing files electronically. F how to get rid of stretch marks irst, disclosure of the consumer’s right to use paper, which is followed by their consent to the electronic process. The second phase is the actual capture of the electronic signature. Once the signature is captured the law directs its attention to the electronic record that has now been created. This aspect of the law, while often overlooked, provides the true power and cost savings of electronic signatures – the ability to STORE electronic files. Printing and storing a paper copy of the electronic record defeats the achievements of this law. It is the accessibility and cheap storage costs of electronic files that really amount to long term cost savings. Sub-section (d) details the retention of contracts and records. If a “statute, regulation, or other rule of law requires” the file to be retained then “that requirement is met by retaining an electronic record”. Accuracy and availability are discussed in both (d.1.B) and (e).

Early flight to catch the next morning? Or returning home from a trip abroad? Booking a taxi just might be a necessity, considering the distance and if no favors or inconveniences are warranted from friends and family. The airports in Hyderabad and Bangalore have not gotten any nearer nor are the buses convenient for late night and early morning flights (not to forget they are limited to a fixed destination not home). When travelling with family (assuming its 3 to 4) the bus ride back home will not cost anything less that Rs. 375/- to Rs. 500/- (at the current kredittkort tips price of Rs. 125/- per person). The current advertised rate of Easy Cabs is Rs. 499/- to any part of the city from the airport or Rs. 15/- per kilometer whichever is lesser. Taking a taxi back home might not be such a bad idea after all especially if you have large bags with you or kredittkort tips have an international flight to catch at odd hours of the night, not to forget arrivals at odd hours.Booking a cab is as easy as calling the cab company, holding till the customer service representative responds, giving them the details , explaining the kredittkorttips directions, getting the booking confirmation number. This process believe it or not takes around five minutes at least. Kiev Stag Nights

Kiev (or Kyiv in Ukrainian spelling) is the right place of any party group that would like to experience exciting nightlife with a lot of opportunities to mingle with locals. Due to the large size of the city and the fact that Kiev tourism potential is much higher as current number of travellers, the concentration of foreigners is low. The locals are in general very hospitable and the city centre is very safe. You can meet a lone girl passing through half-dark underground corridors after midnight as it would be on noon. Kreshatik is the high-street of Kiev with most expensive boutique shops and brands like Louis Vuitton or Gucci and at anytime full of people. They are not just walking around but in warm weather majority of them will have a bottle of beer or local non-alcoholic drink kvas in their hands. Young people sit here in xenadrine small groups as in any other city. As of evening Kreshatik is full of street artists and people are gathering in small crowds to watch them. Both Ukrainian and Russian are spoken in Kiev. The difference between the two languages is not noticeable for a person who does not have at least basic knowledge of one of these languages. Both are using the Cyrillic alphabet, therefore understanding of the inscription will be like deciphering of hieroglyphs (at least at the beginning). With little effort you will be able to discover beer on menu by noticing the word beer in both Ukrainian and Russian, which is ????. The most popular day time activity for stag travellers to Kiev is shooting. The span of weapons available starts from old-fashioned bows and crossbows, through pistols and clay pigeon rifles to Kalashnikovs and sniper guns.

Delayed Gratification

Delayed Gratification Hal was on a trip away from home. Far enough to know that no one, meaning his wife, could possibly find out he was having the time of his life. The drinks were being charged to his new company expense account and for the first time ever – in a place like this ? he was a hit. He was buying for two drop dead gorgeous women in spaghetti-strap dresses barely concealing their very obvious charms. They were pressing their breasts against his arms from either side and laughing in stereo at everything he said. He knew it was the money he was laying on the bar, but he didn?t care. He had earned it and it was what set him apart from other men. Tonight he was celebrating his appointment to Western Sales Manager. Top Dog, number one on the left coa wah pedal st and starting tonight he intended to upgrade his lifestyle to reflect it. He raised his glass in a silent salute to the doctor-type glowering at him from the other end of the bar. Eat your heart out, Chump, he grinned to himself, now they are with me. He threw his head back like Bogie in Casablanca and downed a shot of Makers Mark in one gulp. It burned all the way down and brought tears to his eyes. He wanted to grab his water chaser, but he wanted to impress the two women more so he kept his cool and looked at them in the mirror and gave them a wink. The one on the left was blonde. A Sharon Stone look alike and each time she pulled on his arm to whisper in his ear, he leaned over and snuck a peek down the front of her dress. Her breasts were perfect.

Your Resume – A Good First Impression?

As the old saying goes, you only get one chance to make a good first impression, and in today’s job market, that one chance is more important than ever. When you find a job posting or ad that appeals to you, count on the fact that it has probably appealed to a couple dozen other people at the exact same moment. Once u send in or e-mail your resume, you are starting out by fighting to get to the top of the heap and be noticed. So how does this happen? Most employers will tell you that they want to be pretty much instantly impressed by your resume, so it is very important to word it in such a way that it won’t become a two point shot towards the nearest wastebasket. You’ve got a matter of seconds to make that impression, so what do you do?For st employment law advice for employers arters you can personalize your resume and cover letter. A lot of people don’t like this, because it takes time, and when you’re trying to blanket 50 resumes out a day, you just can’t be bothered. But it works; a resume with the company’s name and job titled listed as the objective is an eye catcher. You also need to tailor your talents and abilities to the company you are applying to (i.e. am IT firm doesn’t care if your sales techniques are top notch). You may also want to change the format of your resume from chronological, which lists your last several jobs and the responsibilities that went along with them, to functional, which negates company histories in favor of the listing of specific skills and responsibilities that you are versed in.
