The body can convert ALA to other important fatty acids, including Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). But, there’s a problem.The conversion rate is very limited and it varies depending on a person’s health, the other foods that they eat and even whether they are male or female. At best, less than 4% is converted to DHA. A bit more is converted to EPA.
